Dear MBA Musicians and Families  We'd like to officially welcome everyone to our 2022 season! We made an amazing comeback last year and can't wait to see you this summer! Please see our most up-to-date calendar for Marching Band & Auxiliary 2022. (updated schedule will be posted soon)

We are thrilled to have Roberto Garcia-Leiva, not only as our Musical Director but also our Marching Band Director!!! Welcome back Mr. Garcia-Leiva and welcome to Marching Band. 

We would also like to announce our 2022 Drum Major is Matthew Stark, who will be assisted by our Assistant Drum Major, Aaron Baack - CONGRATULATIONS!

Marching Band & Auxiliary (MBA) is a great way to have fun with friends new and old while playing and performing with our award-winning Marching Band. Our 2022 season includes: (subject to our New Band Director’s Approval for dates and times)
  • 7 Full Weekdays of MB Camp Starting Monday, August 1st and ending on Tuesday, August 9th. Last Day 6pm-8pm; All MBA families are invited to come out & see what the Marching Band & Auxiliary members have learned. There will be an assortment of optional, student-led social activities in the evenings. Band members will be given an activity calendar on the first day of camp.
  • Weekly practices once a week after school from August-October (students will take a survey to decide what day of the week is best to have practice)
  • Ice Cream Social at Walnut Acres
  • March-A-Thon through the Northgate neighborhood early September
  • 2nd Annual Battle of the Bands in Dave Brubeck Park hosted by Concord High.
  • Fun Band Reviews 
    • Franklin Band Review Elk Grove, CA 10/8/2022​
    • Santa Cruz Band Review/Sant Cruz Beach Boardwalk 10/15/2022
    • Foothill Band Review, Pleasanton, CA 10/22/2022
  • Home Football Games at Northgate HS TBD: Typically including Homecoming, Senior Night.

​Marching Band Contribution ❤️ Where else can you get 7 full days of summer camp for only $400? We request a tax-deductible contribution for each student participating in MBA. Your contribution supports all MBA activities including all ​7 days of MBA Camp activities, March-A-Thon, Band Review registration fees, bus transportation, home football games at NHS, stipends for MB Director, Drum Major Coach, custodial overtime, uniforms and their maintenance, instrument/ equipment purchase and repair, and much more!

​We need you! ❤️ We can’t do it without parent involvement! Chaperoning is super easy and fun too:
  • Football games are usually less than 4 hours on a Friday night. You get to watch the game (free entry for chaperones) from the stands with the band.
  • Come out and follow along with the band as they march in the March-A-thon. This is about a 4 hour commitment.
  • Band Reviews are an all-day commitment on a Saturday.
  • We also need organizational assistance throughout the season.
  •  Volunteer sign ups @ Sign Up Genius
We need chaperones who are cleared with MDUSD (fingerprints & TB clearance on file). Find out more at www.mdusd.org/volunteer
